I just posted this on GS as well:
I can't think of too many people who were as influential over the arc of their careers than BB King, all the while being as humble, joyful and fundamentally decent as anyone with eyes or ears can know him to be. It's pretty tough seeing him withdraw to hospice care to prepare for the inevitable. I hope everyone who he's managed to touch over the years takes the opportunity to pay their respects via facebook, twitter or whatever while he's still here to read and appreciate them.

One of the greats for sure. I wish him that he can go in dignity just as he lived his life. He can be proud of his legacy.

Yeah...love BB King. I'm originally from Mississippi and he was such an incredible ambassador for the state...He was smart, funny, talented...made us all proud.

From experience with members of my family, hospice is about palliative care, and the easing of pain, suffering, and anxiety over impending death. The people who perform hospice services are heroes of a type unsung by society, which is shameful, but not surprising. My thoughts are with Riley B. and his family over these difficult days. May all find peace in this world, and the next.

I think its a privilege to say goodbye. I just can say thanks for a few important lessons in improvising Blues lines, and a voice that is unique even in thousand years.....
Nobody sang the Blues like BB King. Bon voyage.....

very unfortunate, a musician friend is a master mechanic at an RV sales/service company, he's worked on BB's tour bus a number of times on his way to perform at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. BB is such a great guy.

Sad to hear this about a guy who has always been a true gentleman. Hope that he can go quickly and painlessly into that good night. He will live forever through his music.
