I think they are hard to repair from what I have been told. What is wrong with it?

Unobtainium converters and a switching psu makes them a PITA to repair. Those also generate huge EMI fields when they work.
Decades ago I found that out when a local LA studio had me test their facility. The dbx 160X comps were generating about 4% THD feeding the two mix Tascam recorders on my Audio Precision analyzer. When I powered off the H-3000 mounted in the same rack THD lowered to .02%, the default THD spec for those compressors.
I ended up removing the H-3000 from the analog gear rack and built a digital processor only rack far away physically from the analog gear.

So I've got it working now are you saying just mount it in a rack by itself away from the other gear? Or just dont use in the final.chain Thanks to both for the reply

The only way I got that room to be perfectly quiet and clean was to either turn it off or put in on the floor 10 feet away from everything electrical.
