Just fishIng for opinions on the Apollo BLA mod. I've heard mixed reviews. Today's the last day of their sale. Worth the dough? I'm thinking probably not anymore considering the Apollo mkII dropped.

hard to say as we don't know exactly what UA has done other than the converters ? I find the mod makes the classic apollo more linear and flatter. If the clips behind the bf video were recorded on the bf; it sounds a lot like my bla modded apollo. check to if bla offers a side deal on the micro clock at half price  |

I have the Apollo 16 with the BLA mod...and it performs beautifully.

I did it last summer. The improvement brought the unit up to the level of the Benchmark DAC-1 I had been using for DA. It was so close that there was more variation in the sets of tracking headphones than in the conversion.
In the interest of full disclosure, I did still add a different DA that I use via SPDIF - a Zodiac from Antelope, which was just on a different level (but you pay for it, of course). The BLA mod, in my opinion, was excellent bang for the buck.
Naturally, I have not heard the new Apollo, so I cannot offer anything there.
