Welcome Dr. Mark Fouxman - world-renowned Russian born electronics engineer, classical concert pianist and industry leading pro-audio authority. He is the founder of Samar Audio Design and long-time message board hero "Marik." He has volunteered to answer any questions (sane questions, that is) you guys might have! Please take advantage of this opportunity and ask away! Thanks to Mark for doing this...
This will be a temporary category/forum for one month and will then be rolled back into the main board...I could always be convinced otherwise!

Thank you for your warm welcome! I greatly appreciate this opportunity and hopefully we will have some great fun exchanging knowledge and experience!
As for the priorities... Obviously, anything ribbons--theory, history, design, books, modifications, and so on. Since besides designing ribbons I also serviced them for well over decade and probably had in my hands most of the commercial models ever made feel free to ask what are the differences and what affects each particular microphone sound.
Also, the same goes to condenser microphones--capsules, design, DIY, troubleshooting, mods... Will try to answer whatever I can...
Best regards,
Mark Fouxman Samar Audio Design, LLC
