Here's the dealio. A client of mine wants to work on his singing and record himself on his home laptop set-up before coming into the studio... to get his parts nailed. So he's asking me if I can recommend a cheap vocal mic for this process.
I got nothing. I don't know what's even close to decent in a cheap old 'Chinese' LDC.
Can you guys recommend something?

What's cheap? I've owned a lot of budget mics and might have some useable insight.

Rode Nt1 the new one (gray) Blew away my Mictek cv4 Blew away my besneez james on everything. Sold my cv4 2 months after I got the NT1 no regrets.. That's how good the rode is..
