Dear Realgear family, I cannot thank all of you enough for your thoughts and prayers over the past week & a bit. This has easily been one of the most frightening times of my life, and your kind messages that Dad (Wiz) has passed onto me have made life a thousand times easier. Knowing I have your support in this difficult time has really been one of the only upsides of this whole ordeal. Thank you for not only supporting me, but also thank you for supporting Dad. Your positive vibes, prayers and messages have kept us afloat and kept our attitudes positive. I'm doing much better than I was a week ago, that is for sure. Going from not being able to spell my own name, recite my own birthday, or even remember what i'm studying at University, to now. In saying this, there is still a long road ahead to a 100% full recovery. But with your messages and prayers, I doubt this will be that much of an issue. Thank you all so much again, Rikki x x x

Best thing you can do is keep smiling! From what I've seen your dad really loves you more than anything and I have no doubt that you will make a full recovery with family like that supporting you and cheering you on!

Hey Rikkie,
you go grl !
My daughter Grace is just 12 and goes to her Mom's every other week. I feel like I lose her a little each time: silly compared to what your Mom , Dad and you just experienced, but recently I have been worried about my daughter, no reason, just a a dad worrying about his daughter and when I read your Dad's first post, I so felt for you all and it so struck home.
You have a wonderful life ahead of you; just take it one day at a time and all will be well !
best wishes to you and your lovely family !

Rikki - what a tremendous recovery! So happy for you, your Dad, and your Mom to finally get to this point. It's only been a week - I'm sure it'll just get better and better! RGO is such a terrific community. Such a rarity for an online gear forum lol! Take care of that old man of your's - he's a hell of a guy! Nice shirt by the way.

Hi Rikki, great to see you up and smiling! It just happend, that i had the pleasure to talk to a friend this week and i mentioned you and what happend. She had 8 semester of medicine studies at university, an additional medical training and quite a lot of practical and theoretical knowledge in neurological and psychiatrical matters, and she assured to me, that almost always everything comes back much faster than people think, and chances for young people as you are even better for a quick "refill", than they are for us "old" guys... So enjoy your time at home now, take your time and let your frightening fade away like a bad dream that is due, and try to be nice to your parents. Remember, we need your Dad around here from time to time for his funny postings and awesome songs and voice, and he is getting older. Haha! Awesome you took the time to write to us. Even if it doesn't read like that, i am pretty touched and happy you are doing so well. Kind regards and best wishes, (and you look alot better in this t-shirt, than your dad) ;-)

Just seeing all this. Bless you and your family.
I have a family member (6 year old boy) who collapsed out of nowhere and it turned out to be a rare and deadly heart condition. He spent several weeks in the ICU, much of that in a coma. We got him back, but there are still some big challenges that will be there for good.
Anyway, all that to say I know (to some extent) how much this kind of thing yanks the rug out from under your entire life and foundation.
Great to see that beautiful smiling face and all the best to you guys.
