Pro Audio, Guitars, Mics...that thing that you have a sentimental attachment to and wouldn't want to record without...?

01.Soubdelux e49. 02. My custom Haight acoustic guitar.
Best mic I've ever used. And a guitar that was built to resonate in key with my voice (extremely expensive.) The Haight is priceless and is essentially my "Willie Nelson" I will play on it till birds nest in it.
The Soundelux e49 is just...kind of magic on everything, so that's another story.
Honorable mention goes to my Shure KSM 353 ED ribbon (Crowley & Tripp El Diablo.)
I could do entire albums with those two mics and my acoustic.

My true 1972 Fender Jazz bass, and my 1993 Taylor 710 acoustic guitar.
I've owned both for about 22 years, i will NEVER sell either one, i'm only now deciding what style/materials for a new acoustic gtr Scott Leibers is going to build for me, I'm getting it because Scotts an amazing builder, and its an unpassable opportunity to pick up a top quality acoustic guitar with a different voice, at a very good price. I'm very excited about it, but it's not at all for being dissatisfied with my beautiful Taylor.

I'm not sentimental about gear, even guitars, but I regret selling my 51' Esquire, my 62' Gretsch Country Club, and my 68' Les Paul deluxe with the 59' neck on it. So, for now, I'd have to say my Martin Custom shop D-41 Turbo. There are only 11 exactly like it, and only one other is a shade top, like mine, and I picked the better of the two. It's nickname is The Cannon, so I guess you can extrapolate from that ;-)
I owned Duane Allman's/Dicky Bett's Marshall 100, ( I'm not certain which Allman Brother owned it), and would never have sold it, but it was stolen from me.
Until I get my own MKU-47 to try, i'd have to agree with Bob, my second must have is a KM84. My friend lends me his when I need it. It's foolproof. point it at something, and it sounds good.

As much as I love my guitars, the fact that there are three of them that are my "voice" seems to remove them from contention.
The two pieces I own that are without peer are my U48 and my 2192. I simply don't want to work without them.

#210 Scheerhorn Reso and my Signature model Amistar Tricone reso. I will hang onto all of my gear until I can't. I will use them for a retirement fund and if I should pass before, it will give my wife security to pay the house off with the sales and be entirely debt free in her later years. I don't flip gear or make trade ups. I save until I have the ability to buy something. I have only sold two musical items in my life. Both were good moves that enabled me to stair step up to better stuff that I cling to this day.

I like! we should have called this site "Gearhoarders" 8) But then JK would have had to ban himself since he's the biggest stimulator of the used gear economy in the world BTW, Your avatar pic is vibey as hell, just the perfect amount of scary 8) edit; dohhh! JK posted 1 sec before me, rendering my cap flaccid....

I think I'm at the point where I've played with so much stuff that anything I get, it is for keeps; at some point you just know what your aesthetic is. Fender Nocaster, Chandler Limited Curve Bender.

Will do my friend. I don't have a lot, but a few things I have are special, and I'm really grateful for them.
The wonderful thing about my D-41 Turbo is it falls just on the right side of being too much. A D-45 would make me self conscious, but the Cannon being a shade top is subtle, until you look closely. I wish I could gig with it, but I have a Taylor Doyle Dykes Deluxe for that.
I've seen a new Sigma Guitars advertised on Ebay, I think someone bought the name and rights from Martin. They make a scary good looking series of Martin knockoffs, and I'd consider their D-41 in the future for gigs. That way I'd be closer to my sound when gigging. If I could have anything to play live with, I'd play the Johnny Cash signature black Martin D-35, but that's just priced beyond beyond. I met Johnny when I was 14, and we spoke for quite a while, he was profound, humble and encouraging , which I'll always thank him for.

We should have a contest for the best caption of Randge's photo. The winner gets a shot of moonshine and an hour's studio time at his place.
My first thought.. "don't tell me the drums aren't loud enough", or maybe.. "don't put the check in the mail, put it on the table". or better yet, his studio's motto, "great sound, no critters".
