www.exponentialaudio.com/meet-excalibur-the-multi-effects-pluginI had the privilege of being a beta tester for this beast and it was an absolute joy. This thing kills imo. The delays are fantastic and the modulations are nice and rich. Some very cool Spaces presets that create some nice ambiences. Tons of great presets to get you to where you need to be.

I've been on a plugin purchase sabbatical lately but I had to move on this one.
Bundle upgrade pricing is even a little better if you already own PHoenix and/or R2.

In other words pick the category "vocal" in the keywords and you get all the presets that are good for vox, pick "spaces" and you get some fantastic spaces etc. I think there is an "all" category. Also your up/down arrows scroll presets and the left/right arrows scroll categories...or vice versa!lol In other words you can use your arrows to scroll through presets and categories.

I am tempted to buy it but am curious how similar it might be to Valhalla UberMod.

i'm very reluctant to order a new ilok, i guess i'm going to have to break down and do it, i figured i'm leaving PT, so why bother. Ilok and PT have been 2 big disappointments to me in the last few years, i don't want to reward them with my $. @exponentialaudio Mike, is there any way to circumvent the ilok?

Was about to purchase but then saw that the CAPI comp came out and jumped on one. Still have some time to take advantage of the sale.
I love Phoenix Verb the clarity is great so I was excited to buy Excalibur... it will have to wait a little now.

@exponentialaudio Mike, is there any way to circumvent the ilok? Sorry, but no. Alternate protection forms (even PACE's CPU licensing) each bring along their own security and support issues. As a small shop, I want to stay focused on the best audio I can do.

Tony, you'll still need iLok in Logic for any Slate plugs and the ReLab reverb, and a few others. If there's a Slate plugin you've been thinking of, wait for a sale, I think they include a free iLok if you want one.
If I could go back in time, I'd reconsider the Relab plug and probably buy the Exponential. Now, I don't really need more verb, with the ones that come with Logic, the Apollo, plus my EMT-140 and Relab.

Having major installation issues with this plugin. every time i run the installer and gets to the the "destination select" section it just hangs there, won't go any further, I also did the 1.01 update still same problem. I've installed 5 different thing's in the last 2 days or so with no issues, problems only with this installer. if anyone has any suggestions please post here or pm me. Im running Mac OS 10.9.5.
Thanks

I am tempted to buy it but am curious how similar it might be to Valhalla UberMod. Very different sound. Plus you'd have to chain instances of Ubermod together to get the same concept. I love Ubermod especially the reverbs which are way over the top modulated verbs. Xcal is wider and clearer than Ubermod imo. Ubermod sits on the source whereas Xcal blends alot better. Xcal also does these small spaces which I'm finding a ton of uses for.Ubermod can't do that. Need both...;-)
