Only half of me feels emotional about this, but seriously the man will forever be defined by a charictor, he seamed to get that he would be Dr Spock and embrace it .

Around 1975 I saw him in NY City playing Salieri in the Broadway play "Amadeus" before it was made into a film. I'd watched a bit of Star Trek and had some preconceptions about him. Suffice to say his performance blew me away. He was a great actor. RIP.

He was Mr. Spock, Dr. Spock was the baby book guy. I remember watching the Mission Impossible series as a kid, Nimoy was on it during 1969 to 1971, I guess just after the original Star Trek series ended. I liked Leonard Nimoy in everything he did, but especially Star Trek. Unfortunately, he was so good that I can't enjoy the new Star Trek movies with somebody else playing Spock. This is like the late Jeremy Brett, he defined Sherlock Holmes for me, anybody else is just a pale imitation.

He was interfaced into the two new movies with Zachary Quinto playing spock, that was pretty cool.
