For my friends here at RGO, I've put aside a number of my Model 23N preamps to be available as demo units. You can read about it here: tbaudiogear.com/product/model-23n/If you are interested, I will be happy to ship you a pair to try out in studio for two weeks. Return postage will be included in the box so just slap the label on and drop it off with the mail when you're done. Or, you know, keep it Those of you who know me know that I'm a no pressure guy and I certainly understand that there is no piece of gear that works for everyone but I do think you'll be very surprised and pleased at what you can get out of a $400 pre! Unfortunately, I need to make some restrictions on this. First, US folks only. For shipping and tracking reasons, it's not practical to be sending demos all over the world. Sorry. Also, this is for contributing RGO folks only - active forum members. You know who you are. So if you'd like to check it out, message me here or drop an email to info@tbaudiogear.com. If you email, include your forum name so I know who's who. Brian

These sound very nice on the Drum Demo! Nice work! Thank you very much! There is no EQ or compression or anything on those drums, just the mics and the pre straight into PT. The only thing I did was move some faders.

Two from TI, one from ON Semi, and the Phillips. Also tested a number of capacitor choices and decided that those really made no appreciable difference. The test that was most telling for me was a male vocal. I and everyone in the room were frankly very surprised just how much we liked the Phillips over the others on that. Of course now that they are out there, I'm hearing over and over again about the clarity of bass response through the thing.
