These days I still see 3 part reviews: 1. I tried it 2. I liked it 3. Go buy it this is just about every review i see nowadays that being said, Johnkenn would an official review section be something that ever comes to RGO? I find myself digging through threads here trying to find discussions of gear before I purchase more often than not. I find the thread format much more informative and honest. Everytime I read the review section on anther site I find that I am wondering the experience of the reviewer and way to much of owner bias !

Test results tend to smooth out writer bias, that's why you don't see them anymore.
At REP I only had one article that was cancelled due to problems with the gear. It was the Drawmer 1960. The sample I got had the output meters 10 db off, it had a lot of noise. It was a throw your hands up situation. The editor decided to pull the article and send the sample back to Drawmer for a fix. We never got it back as all of them were made that way. The editor decided not to slaughter Drawmer in the magazine as he knew the AP test results would have hurt their sales. The problem was the test sweeps, it sounded ok.
These days poor test results are considered a sales plus. Good test results always get those, "too clean" or "no mojo" complaints. REP would probably be a fish out of water in these subjective audio times.
