Shoveling sucks and it looks like the tax man is sending me some cash. I think it's time to grab a blower. My walkway is probably about 100 feet long and my driveway is about 4 cars wide and 2.5 cars long. I don't need something super heavy duty, but want something that'll handle the New England winters. Any advice?

Man that's a wide driveway. I don't know if it's standard, but the one I use has an adjustable chute to blow the snow. That helps. The problem I have, and I suspect you'll have with that wide of a driveway, is that the blower isn't strong enough to blow the snow off the driveway. So, you have to go over blown snow again.
Still, it's worth it. But be prepared to get your face plastered with snow when the wind is blowing. If you're on the right edge of your driveway and the wind is coming from your right, you're going to get your own personal blizzard.

I was just talking about this, I think I'm getting an Ariens. The guy across the street has one and it's pretty robust. You'll want some power for wet snow, I know that much. Mine seized up cleaning up after that last one we had.

30 years in WI , seen to many injuries, and the fact that they are pretty useless on hard pack, it was just easier to pay the guy who ad modified he was dumb enough to buy one !

A buddie and my father in law both have Craftsman blowers and are happy with them. Looked online Saturday and could have it shipped to my door for Wed. Checked out some reviews and stuff. Picked one out and went to place the order yesterday and now they no longer are in stock to ship to my house. I can have one shipped to Sears, but it won't be in until Feb 28. Figured I would try grabbing an Ariens instead. Home Depot is sold out along with 4 local mom and pop shops. Looks like I'm SOL this winter.

Sounds dumb but if you buy one in the summer you'll save a lot of money.
