And with regards to the FOH 'sound engineer'... as I was leaving, I asked the guy "Is this your first time doing sound?" To which he looked at me in a dazed and stunned way... and followed with "Usually, people like to hear the band." What a putz.

Robert, sorry you had issues with admittance. Peavey assured me everyone would get in, no lists necessary. We did this gig as a favor to them for their 50th anniversary party, they helped us out after Hurricane Sandy flooded our equipment storage in Hoboken and ruined a bunch of amps and cabinets. Yeah, the sound and mixing was all their people, not ours. Don't know why some guys think the kick drum and the subs are the most important thing in a live mix. Just because they can pump a lot of bass, doesn't mean they should. Myself, Eric Bloom and Richie Castellano are in the current BOC band. Bobby Rondinelli and Rudy Sarzo both were in BOC for several years, but at different times. Despite the sound (monitors were rough too) and the short set, I still had fun playing with those guys. And Kenny Aronoff on cowbell. Don, if I ever get to see you guys play live, can I please come up and play cowbell? I promise I would act right and not explore the space.

Anybody can play cowbell for 2 bars. Playing it for 5 minutes takes talent and skill.

And Kenny Aronoff on cowbell. Nothing worse than a one off as a favor! In house gigs are a bitch, the guy who talks the talk always ends up behind the boar! But on Monday he gets to hear it all from his bosses and learn he needs to walk the walk. I had a wireless battery die as the Owner of Full Compass took the stage, thank god I had a wired back up that I handed him before anybody noticed. He turned it into a teaching moment about having a back up, couldn't blame the battery as the CEO of Rayovac was in the front row!

Youtube video of the Peavey Party concert. Doesn't sound as bad on a laptop as I thought it might.

Hey, that is more than great for enjoyment. Thanks for sharing. Half to say I'm excited for you to be able to play with Rudy Sarzo and for him to play with you guys. What a cool team. Thanks for the memories donr.
