It's 2015, maybe it's time to embrace streaming. I've recently migrated to a new MBPr and I have less HD space than I previously had. Rather than move all of my music from my old machine to the new one, I'm considering subscribing to a streaming service. I see that Spotify can stream 320kbps and Tidal can do 44.1/16bit, but at double the price. Are there other services out there? How are the libraries...do they have pretty much everything? Any thoughts?

Spotify: Just Say No
I probably won't subscribe to a service until HD content is widespread, and equality is established for artist royalty payments.

I've been doing google play music... similar selection to spotify, but you can upload your own music as well. They also pay artists about 10x as much.

Spotify: Just Say No I probably won't subscribe to a service until HD content is widespread, and equality is established for artist royalty payments. I subscribe, and like Spotify, although there's a lot of music missing because the meager compensation keeps many artists away, or limited to tunes they want to promote or offer as a sampler. Since owning music is going away, listening has to be metered more fairly than the formula used formerly for terrestrial radio. Perhaps there's an opportunity for a high-end streamer who would attract artists with fair per play royalty and charge a heftier fee to subscribers, in return for top quality streaming. If so, more artists would abandon the cheaper streamers and migrate there. The you tubers and pirates would still exist, but the mid tier services would have to re-adjust. Record companies seem ok with Spotify and their ilk though.

I stopped for a few months and really missed it. They do pay the most (or maybe second most) of any streaming service [edit - they really need to fix their Youtube compensation however]. Also works great with Chromecast.

You can't stream from iTunes right? I was trying to stream my purchased music today, but it seemed like I only had the option to download. At least my Amazon purchases can be streamed.
