Thought I would do a review as I cannot find one and it may drive some traffic here for John..
So our current wireless gear is Shure PGX mic, Line 6 Relay G30 guitar, Apple air router for DL1608..
Last week we tryed the Alesis wireless mic link at a gig.
The Alesis alesis.com/miclink-wireless is a way cheaper product than the above wireless gear with a $99 street price.
While it does not have the range of the other wireless equipment we have. Good to about 60 feet when you are within this radius it works very well, clear and no dropouts. I don't think anyone would be able to tell the difference in sound quality between the shure and the miclink (within 60'). The transmitter is good for about 6 hours but it charges quite fast. If you put it on charge between sets it would never go flat. Being digital if you get to far from the base station the audio just stops, no pops or static just no audio. Comes back as soon as you get closer. 60' is about the limit you would want to be sing with as we use stage wedges the delay at 60' (speed of sound) becomes to much to deal with. Its an issue with any wireless system unless you have IEM's.
Base is a little plasticey it has a feature where you can put 2 AAA batterys and run it without power or plug it in via it power supply. Binding is a super easy just hold the two bind buttons and you are done. Being able to swap mic's is nice as we have some "spitters" mic's for other people to use and being able to hand the MC a cheap "wireless" mic is very cool. The cost means you don't have to worry to much about what happens to the mic and transmitter.
Its a nice product and we will be getting some more of these. The price is good and they sound great build is a little plasticey (i know not a real word) but that is really my only gripe.
