OMG, i haven't looked at that thread for a couple years, it's been edited to hell and back! with most of my posts removed, as well as others. That is the thread that i got banned in the midst of posting on! but you see no posts that would lead you to believe that it even happened, i started off with all good intentions, and after TB started his utter horseshit belittlement of capi, I posted semi mocking statements toward him saying, "let me get this straight, you have these strong, disparaging opinions of a piece of gear you never even tried?, lmao, face palm" etc...., then suddenly i was "banned".
lately I was thinking i should remove the "banned from gearslutz" from my avatar here, but after seeing that thread again, it's kinda like a badge of honor 8)
sorry, but...what an asshole that guy is!

There are way too many cool things on this board like mic shootouts, trial and error DIY, mixes/tracks to listen to and other posts that are inspiring/informative rather than letting people drag you down. I am all for this board simply ignoring that whole mess. I see this being the board that people mention how they learned something from and spread the word to like minded people, so that we all learn, grow and music gets better. If you listen to the generation before us that didn't have the luxury of the net or sites like this, they made incredible music that even by today's standards, we have a hard time touching. We have a lot of catching up to do to hang with our musical forefathers. We have no excuse, there is so much info/help right at our fingertips these days and no need to get bogged down by nonsense.

I agree. Sorry, couldn't help myself. John those of us who haven't been band yet do understand, we just hange here because we can be who we are and can say what we think here. I have browsed some things over at GS but have maybe posted twice since joining here! Randy pretty much domed it up! |
