Does Gearslutz really censor this site's name?

That's the nickel&dime kind of operation it is.. It's a very poorly managed business from the top down. The lack of judgement reveals either how amateurish it is or how desperate the owner is for money.

It's silly. Gearslutz is a helpful resource sometimes. It's as if Apple won't mention Google, plain silly, and shortsighted. Competitors do not have to be enemies, they can be colleagues, since there's obviously room for both parties.

That said, cowboycoalminer's Apollo thread is something rare and special, it brought together some seriously talented and generous people. I go there on occasion to check in on the Apollo info, but hardly look at anything else. I mostly stick to threads of plugins I own, hoping to find some helpful info from the manufacturers, or insights into using them. Recently I looked at a Slate VBC thread, and one guy was actually arguing that people were mistaken to want and ask for the option to lower or shut off the noise of Slate's FG-MU plug in the VBC group, because the original plugs these things are modeled on were noisy, and noise was a part of all the "classic" records, and if you want the noise to go away, then somethings wrong with your productions. Really, scolding those asking Steven Slate to include that option in any update.

The word I have for behavior like that is obtuse. I mentioned that I find the noise knob on my UAD ATR-102 tape sim very useful, (I usually dial it off, and slowly dial in just a pinch if it helps the track). and he let loose a diatribe of personal beliefs as if they were facts.

Unhappy, ungrateful people have a way of shooting themselves in the foot, you're just not always there to see it happen. You just keep growing this site John, and keep it cool here.

I was watching The O'Reilly Factor last night, when he mentioned RealGearOnline Jon Stewarts voice was dubbed over it.

It's a British Plot.

Censorship always gets on my nerves. What's the point? Are they protecting me? What if I want to join the 'dark side'? Are they losing money everytime the 8 byte word 'Realgearonline' appears in their forum?
Should I go and tell my parents about this? It's pathetic.

It's carpetbaggers feeding on unknowing members while the owner makes sure no one can speak up or call out any of the unethical behavior going on by his merchant cronies, whom he lets moderate, censor and exploit the site. It's just as bad as the old record companies.
