VCC in PT11?

Dear FG-X and VCC Slate Customer,
I've got some updates regarding the AAX 2.0 updates.

I previously said our goal was to get VCC out by December, and we've been working around the clock on the update every week to accomplish this. I had a meeting with the development team to find out whether this would still be realistic. Here is what I was told:

The final VCC 2.0 Prototype along with the new sixth console will be ready by early next week. Then, it will take about two days per console algorithm to program into C++ in our final framework. During this time, the grouping system will be tested but the team is confident about its stability. So, this will put us right to the end of December where we should have a beta version. We'll test the beta version with our beta team to ensure that it is absolutely stable and that the grouping works perfectly. This would mean a final release in early January.

FG-X 2.0 is a more difficult situation, since a lot of it revolves around the development of the new LEVEL algorithm which is making great progress, but is still not finished. However, because there is such a demand to get something working for AAX (and 64bit), I've once again tried to figure out an intermediate solution which would be able to turn the current FG-X version into a workable AAX plugin while we wait for the official 2.0 version to be finished. I cannot say for sure that this solution will work, because as I've said previously, the 1.0 FG-X code is quite chaotic. But, the programmer that I've assigned to this task is one of the brightest in the industry and he has been successful in the past with other plugins. I'll find out by next week if this intermediate solution will be possible and will let you know the outcome.

Please note also, that the FG-X LEVEL algo should be done in the next 30 days so the official 2.0 version isn't light years away. But until I have the final prototype on my rig, I'd rather not promise any speculative release periods just yet.

Some of you may not love this news, but I want you to know that from the first newsletter I've written you, we've been working nonstop on these updates. Some of you may have seen some advertisements in retailer catalogs for our Virtual Microphone System which we placed way back in the summer (these catalogs are set up far in advance of their release). Well, the VMS product is not available, and the reason is because like I promised you, I took every team member who was working on that project off of it so that they could work on FG-X and VCC. I am dedicated to making this right until each and every one of you has these plugins working on your new DAW systems.
