Actually they have filed just as a consolidation move and expect to move through this quickly. I rep from the company posted on pro tools expert a few days ago about this.

Kind've surprising to me. I thought Adam A7's were an obligatory rite of passage for every home studio in the world.

I think my are broken though because they're giving me a huge bass null in my mix position. Certainly it can't be my small shitty room

Never understood how so many fell in love with them until I heard them, loved listening to them, hated working on them and learnt to live with them until I got my Focals.

I still have my pair of A7's. They are my NA-10 type speakers that I flip between at mix time. Just like NS-10's, you gotta know them and I can usually get a mix to translate pretty well on them. The more you turn them up, the more they show their weaknesses.

Anybody ever heard the A77x's? Yes. I think they are great (but I´m the marketing guy at ADAM, so my opinion might be a bit biased). ;-)

I was just joking about the bass null being the monitors fault! It's because I have a small, less than ideal dimentionality to my room. I'm working on it and it's tons better than a week ago. Love the A7X's :^)

I actually set Emerson Hart from Tonic up with some A7x's in his home studio...I had the A7's for a long time. Really good product at a good price.

i have 7x's and really like the treble precision.
A buddy works in a local studio with 77's he is also in retail gear sales and knows his gear colld
He like's the 77's a lot and commented that you need to spend a fair bit more to improve on them.

Having been part of a chapter 11 restructuring (which is very close to the German version that ADAM is using) when I worked at a company long ago, you can expect that they'll drop their less profitable and less popular lines, lay people off and generally shrink in size and ability. Essentially the first thing they'll do is attempt to "cut to profitability". In other words they'll cut expenses to the bone.
Since they were quoted saying that they don't have build stock and don't have repair stock, that means they've been in trouble a while and the most likely case is that their suppliers stopped supplying due to non-payment. It would be deadly for a company not making any money to use up all their stock building products that aren't selling. The only other option is that they don't have enough profit margin built in to the product to sustain the company at it's monetary burn rate. Usually that happens when you have union workers pushing the labor costs upwards while the market pushes the sales prices down.
I'd expect a fire sale on the discontinued lines in the near future. Keep a watchful eye out. Might get some deals.
I understand reps telling folks it's no big deal and they'll get through it quickly and all that. They don't want panic and such, but lets be honest here, it's a huge deal. It means they have so much debt that they can't do business anymore. Even getting to the point of needing Chapter 11 means the business model is either flawed or not executed well.
I've always found that it's usually the execution that fails the company. Management is always to blame, although they'll point the finger everywhere else when it comes to answering to the board members. (been a part of those reindeer games as well..)
Anyway, lets hope it actually does go well. I don't really care for ADAM gear after having tried it a few times, but I'd hate to see them fail and for all those folks to lose their jobs over poor management.

I'm hoping for the fire sale, but probably still can't afford what goes up.

Anybody ever heard the A77x's? How are they? I use 77Xs for a couple of years now and I love them. I had A7s before that and needed a subwoofer with those, with the 77Xs, there's enough bass and a nice stereofield. Adam makes great stuff and I hope they can pull through.

I had also worked with alesis (powered m1) before getting my current a7x. Once I hooked them up, I could not believe i had any work done on the alesis. Plus, I dont need to be checking my mixes everywhere!

Anybody ever heard the A77x's? How are they? I am using them after using Mackie HR824's. I can hear low, low/mid frequency detail much better on the ADAMs'.
