I also really like the Helios. I boosted some rock guitar and piano midrange with it and it was fantastic. Funny enough I like the Softube A Range for the same purpose. I wonder is softube's a range different from UAD? this would be a comparison I might need to make. JohnKenn I don't know the whole story but I think overall the Black Friday prices were sligthly lower. Oh well at least this sale is on for a while.

I imagine they're the same. Softube makes both. Actually they don't. The UAD Trident is not a port from Softube (I think the UAD actually came out like a year before the Softube) The Softube has a saturation control to drive the distortion and the UAD does not. Not that it matters but I'm pretty sure, unless it's changed, that the Softube is the one that is actually licensed from Trident. I've never A/B'd them though but there are a ton of threads / videos comparing them. Huh, thanks for correcting the misinformation. I was just on the UAD site today and was noticing how Softube has a bunch of plugs on the UAD platform...Tilt, Dynamite, TLA-100, and thought the Trident was too. Thanks for clearing it up.

Tilt is good. I've used it a few times. Never much cared for the A Range personally.
