It is not modded, not the "LE" version, has the meter bridge and CPS 250 supply. May need some repair on 1 or 2 channels. Looks fairly clean in pictures but I have not contacted the seller yet and his description is a bit vague. Also, what is the value/cost of modding it? Is modding a must or optional? I will not be using it to record, just at mix-down, so I wonder if modding the busing and output sections will be enough - if even required.

It's not a must to mod it, no. These boards sound good stock. The pre amps are shit and practically unusable but the center section is great as are the eq's. You'll like what it does stock. I did.
You'll want to upgrade the PS first though. The 250's are underpowered.

These pretty much hover around $1000-1400. Cowboy pretty much nailed it, Though modding can make for an impressive board, but the fact that channel are 8 to a board make any mods a big investment and at that point you ask yourself is it worth the pain of removing a 8 ch block and the cost to have 8 ch modded at once? That little PSU is worth less watch ebay!

Check out Creation Audio Labs for mods and prices! They are pretty much the standard for ghosts and I remember JW once saying he couldn't match their prices.

well, i'd say don't do it for one reason, it's not modular, the lack of accessibility is a deal breaker IMO. The input channel cards do come out in banks(i believe), but it requires a lot of work, modular designs allow easy pull of channel strips, even for those with little tech skills, and the board continues to work without any module but the master removed. The second thing is the cps 250 is poultry as far as power goes, i'm sending a fully JW modded 10 channel Delta200 board to Wiz(i bought a used JW modded board, I have no need for it anymore with my recent Delta 8 purchase) with a CPS450 psu, the CPS250 can't handle even that little guy. I have a shit ton of Delta 200 ave/dlx style channel strips that i'm willing to part with(modded and not), i also have multiple chassis and a few psu's that will hang, i can configure any size you want if you're interested in a Delta200 Matt. The diff's between the stock sound vs the JW modded consoles fall's under the category "laughable".
They aren't going anywhere anytime soon, wait till Wiz gets his and reports in on it, i'm sending him a few working stock modules to use for parts, he'll be able to compare the modded vs stock channel strips, BUT! as much as it's still really obvious, it wont be fair comparison as the master module is already modded, and he doesn't have a stocker to compare it to.

I don't disagree with Tony, a Delta is a better built and sounding desk , but the Ghost is about , routing , inputs in a small footprint and the useless midi Transport controls!

Thanks everybody, I'm gonna pass on this one, but I like the feature set of the Ghost a lot. Eight auxes, with two of them stereo. Hmmm, feed that outboard . . .
