Anyone familiar with this one? I've seen a few people talking about it on the other site but never on RGO and considering that most denizens of RGO has an exquisite taste in choosing their gear is this yet another hype gear endorsed to death by handful of people in the whole world who seem to own it?

I think most of us here are too low on the totem pole to get into the Knif stuff. I've read some positive reviews of the Soma EQ in the mastering forum over there, but it's out of my reach. Good luck.

I wonder if it's worth the price... $6800 price tag seem pretty steep for a stereo compressor.

I wonder if it's worth the price... $6800 price tag seem pretty steep for a stereo compressor. That's the real question right? I've got a Thermionic Culture Phoenix Mastering, which is in the same ballpark. It's a really, really, nice compressor. I'm very satisfied. On that note though, would I pay $6900 bucks for it....not a chance. $3000, sure, everyday, but almost $7k, not a chance. Maybe if I had a fully stocked studio, Neve pres everywhere, all the standard compressors, API console, rack of nice eq's, smoking mic collection, everything I needed and some extra money in my pocket, I could see myself paying the new price. But, at $7k, I can grab a couple very nice mid-priced compressors and an eq or 2 and get much more bang for my buck that way. Just my opinion though.
