I'm sure someone out there has had this happen to them before, but, I've got a project that I'm mixing and it's a little rare because it's one that I tracked and produced as well, so it's not normal, where it's something I get I've never heard and it's fresh and I have all these creative juices flowing and I just attack like a freaking ninja. No, on this one every single time I pull up a track to mix I can work on it for about 30 minutes and I'm just bored, lack enthusiasm and somehow find an excuse to get up and walk away from it, or pull up another project to start mixing.
Issue at hand, now my phone is ringing and I can't put it off anymore. They are wanting to release in a month and my deadline is already smashing my toes now. The way I work is I don't let anything out of my door unless it moves me, unless I pull it up and think "damn that mix is so good" and for the life of me I can't get that feeling here. It's a unique case, normally when I record, produce and mix an album I have to move so damn fast this never happens, but this project was delayed because of budgets on their end, not mine and now all is in line and I'm being pressured.
Anyone out there ever have this happen? Any tips on how to overcome this to get motivated or creatively interested again? It's a new area for me, never had it happen before.

Oh yeah, had this happen before.
I can't say that any specific thing helps for me. I'll try stepping back for a few days and not listening to it at all. Next I might just reset everything and start from scratch again to see if anything sparks my interest.
Lastly I might ask one of my musician friends to listen and tell me what they think. Usually another artistic ear can help spark an idea.

I'm going through that right now. Trying to get the motivation to do what I need to do.

I suggest buying a new console, it won't help you with that mix, but it will get you fired up otherwise 8) I kidd, i feel your pain, but i don't have an answer beyond just get it done to the best of your ability and move on bromee.

Right after posting this I went and worked like 4 hours on it, I was able to get some new ideas and such. When I put it in the car though the mix overall wasn't very sparkly which is something I don't normally have an issue with. But, the mix did sound pretty good, so it's a start. I think I'm going to totally rip everything I've got off and start from 100% brand new. All the faders down, no aux sends I mean nothing the same and just go at it hard like I would when I get one to mix. Once I get a good sound going I can import most of the settings over to the other songs as this whole record was cut in 2 days in Nashville. That will at least get me started with dynamics and eq. Then I can get creative with the delays and verbs. I've got an insane drum room sound going now though, and it's through the free reverb plug you get with UAD. You know how you can mix and match different types of surfaces and things and I have a damn good sound drum room tweaked into that plugin, lots of compression underneath and it still sounds like a real room. Maybe that's what I needed to get me going, was discovering a new kick ass drum room I like. I also picked up Slates platinum pack when he had it for $25 and there are some killer freaking samples in there. I still need drumrec to get me a few custom hits though

Not having any work is more motivating.

IME it comes with too much work and no free time/vacation to recharge. Around year 2000 I had some rough times and finally crashed after like 2-3 years with very fews days off. Since then I've been very careful. One insight I got was that skills and stamina sure are good things, but a positive and hungry attitude is what makes clients coming back. Mixing your own production imo is like payback for all the hard work, so if that didn't get me going I'd be worried. But perhaps you don't work that way
