Regarding all of his F-bombs in front of kids at a free concert at the DC Mall, are people over reacting to his poor judgement in using such language? or is it okay because that's just the way that he is?

It's 100% ok. I don't know anything about the story, but someone obviously booked him for the gig. They knew what they were getting. The artist shouldn't have his vision diluted.

If saying Happy Motherfucking Veterans Day in front of all those brave men and their families is his vision then he's got a screw loose.

If you don't want Eminem swearing in front of a bunch of vets at a free show in DC on Veterans day, they shouldn't book him. That's all there is to it. If the show needs to be a bit more PC, they should have booked the Zac Brown Band or something. The anger should be directed toward the booking company rather than Eminem. Asking him to change his act would be like asking Kiss to not wear makeup when they perform.

I know what Eminem is, I actually like him as an artist, he has some talent. But as an individual he's as bitter and selfish as they get.

I really don't understand being upset about swearing in this day and age. It reminds me of showing Elvis from the waist up only on the Ed Sullivan show so that his "gyrations" wouldn't cause parental panic. Or when Ed Sullivan tried to get Mick Jagger to change the words to "Let's Spend The Night Together". Today, that seems just laughable. For most who are below a certain age, every second phrase is fuck this or fucking that. These words have just become meaningless adjectives, adverbs, and verbs. Gone are the days when comedians like Eddie Murphy, many years ago, could get a laugh out of the shock value of swearing.
I teach in a couple of colleges. The few times I can listen to students talking among themselves when they don't realize a professor is around, holy cow! Even the most polite, the most innocent-seeming students are constantly swearing. Of course, they don't do it in front of professors, they are the epitome of politeness. My wife is an early childhood educator dealing with children from kindergarten on up. She finds the same thing. The music they listen to, the culture they're brought up in, swearing is just part of the landscape, completely meaningless.
I personally don't see this as a negative, it's just the way things are. I'm an old guy, I tend not to swear in front of other people, especially children and women. But when other people swear, I really could not care less.

I disagree that it's meaningless. It's disrespectful, not only to others but, ultimately, to themselves.

Words only have the value you give them, I remember when i was a little, little kid, we used to swear like sailors lol, the amazing part was how we had parent/teacher radar that seemed to shut it down instantly without even realizing it.
