I picked up the EQ 432, one of the API emulations and I already had the CSR, White 2A, Black 76, Pultec, Fairchild and some of the older stuff. Thinking about either the EQ 73, 81 or the one of the Buss Compressors. |

I picked up the EQ 432, one of the API emulations and I already had the CSR, White 2A, Black 76, Pultec, Fairchild and some of the older stuff. Thinking about either the EQ 73, 81 or the one of the Buss Compressors. I own White 2A, Mix Bus Comp (SSL), Tube Delay, 432 EQ, Opto Comp (old one) and the new Comp/Precesion Limiter which I just picked up. I don't like it on the 2 Bus but really enjoying it on drum bus and Kick so far. Going to pick up the Black76 next. All I have is Bombfactory76 now. I really like IK's plugs what a friggin deal! |

I want to get in on this deal, but don't know if I NEED anything. I already have most of this in UAD form. How do these compare, and what's worth picking up? Anyone compare the SSL bus comp to the Slate VBC?

I like the IK SSL more than the Slate but I think I'm in the minority. The IK seems to open up mixes with rock guitars. Adds some real cool energy. Just demo it first, I think it's 14 day demo period. |

Anyone compare the SSL bus comp to the Slate VBC? If it helps, I ended up selling my UAD cards (w/ legacy plugs) after doing A/B's with the IK and other native options. Couldn't justify the cost, limited track counts, etc to stay with the UAD stuff. FWIW, I thought the IK versions were as good or better than their legacy counterparts - just my opinion. The newer stuff is even better. Love the EQ73 and really enjoying the API demos... |

I know I can demo but I've been demoing plugs like crazy and it's starting to detract from my work. I'm def going to pick up an EQ if we reach 1000. Just curious about the texture? Does it get surgical at all? |

Definitely a missing piece in my arsenal, and I've got the Waves Diamond bundle and the IK CS Grand. |

Just in my opinion, I think the MkII UAD plugs nail the tonal attributes of each compressor moreso than any other company. But the White 2A is great...Not so hip on the 1176. The gain staging is weird on it and it freaks me out. I tried the Delay and really didn't care for it that much...

Didn't care for the tape echo much until I put it on an aux and started tweaking the little knobs and found some really sweet sounds. I'll probably end up getting the 432 and the tape echo. Not sure what else though, I've already got the others I'm interested in.
I hate wasting freebies...

IK crossed the 3 free threshold sometime last night. I checked my account and there is another download available.
I ended up getting the 432EQ with Tape Echo and the Quad Imager, which is actually pretty interesting.

Hmm, haven't checked out their multiband stuff - pretty happy with my Melda plugs for that... But, maybe I should take a look at their de-esser?
