Hey guys,
Here's a short demo video we made for our Model 2 ribbon mic. Everything was recorded with the Model 2 going into a Focusrite Saffire 56 interface. All the tracks are unprocessed. The drums were recorded in large untreated room so they've got a very roomy sound! Check it out!

Nice!
So - tell me more about this rise at 13kHz. Is this going to sound like a dark condenser? Does it roll off after that?

Nice! So - tell me more about this rise at 13kHz. Is this going to sound like a dark condenser? Does it roll off after that? There's a broad 3dB boost centered around 13kHz which then rolls off to a -2db point at 20kHz. Not sure if I would describe it as a dark condenser since most condensers I've heard all have a boost starting around the 8kHz area up to 13-15kHz. The Model 2 is flat all the way to around 10kHz before it starts to rise, so the boosted high end is more "airy" and gives it a more open high end. Hope this explanation helps! Here's a vocal clip compared to a Gefell with a UM70 capsule and some other ribbons: soundcloud.com/mesanovicmicrophones/sets/model-2-comparison-session-Deni
