I bumped into a friend today who's the dept head at the Providence performing Arts Center, he's also the former FOH guy for Black Label Society as well as other national acts and still does big shows like Gillette Stadium and TD Garden. He was saying all those mega acts like Taylor Swift etc buy brand new DigiCo consoles for a tour then sell it for cheap money as soon as the tour is over because they don't want to worry about storing it. And those are like $250,000 consoles according to him, mind blowing!

Not that many Acts but a console, most of the major touring acts use Clair Bros, who supply the whole rig and crew. You can always find used live boards, mid level Sound Companies come and go, if the gear is sitting in the shop it's not mameing money so if somebody bought some thing for a gig and nobody wants to use it its for sale! I have known guys who little rly had every piece of their inventory listed for sake " if I can make money selling it is money in my pocket" Live guys also can't have gear lying around that isn't rider friendly for their client base, Digicos are very nice, but not as well known as Avid, Midas and Yamaha , so if I had to have a D5 for a tour and its paid for I would probably list it. Keep in mind most SR companies are "dealers" and buy at dealer price and theirs got to be a couple of. Demos out thre ad well at reduced price. At one time or another I worked for and or Had most of the major touring companies as clients as well as many regionals, In fact I sold the guys at Intellasound pretty much everything except Cabinets and Cases when they started.
