So - all of a sudden - even though I have paid to get them off of my page - there appear to be ads on the page. I'm not entirely sure why. I've got an email into support about it.

Ah...I see...we have reached over 50,000 page views - in fact 78,000 page views since July 22nd...It costs money monthly to upgrade to "ad free" - depending on your pageview count. I upgraded.

I hope this isn't too expensive JK, I personally do not mind if you let some ads in, if it helps lighten any burden?? I certainly don't have any point of reference to base this statement on, just saying.

I didn't add the counter until around the first of august, so I've changed the Counter to reflect what Proboards says the count should be! Also, that's just every time the page is viewed - not unique visitors...but still, this is a fantastic start for a new board! Thank you guys!!!

That shit is CONFUSING. Proboards doesn't allow you to upload a sitemap to Google or Bing - they say they handle that side of the Search Engine Optimization. They do allow HTML metatags - which I'm still figuring out (in all my spare time). I believe since I've upgraded the freeforums.net URL to realgearonline.com the Google bots will start crawling the site. I did notice if you type in www.realgearonline.com we get a bunch of hits. It initially wants to space out the search to "Real Gear Online" but when you switch to the "search for www.realgearonline.com" you get the results. Someone on the support board said that, honestly, google doesn't help get members. It's just so vast. I have no idea. I know that I would like to have our convo's pop up...say - when someone searches for "Emotiva amp with Pro Ac" - why is ours not coming up? I have no idea. Might be wise to spend a couple of bucks to hire a nerd for a week.

I personally have searched many questions in google, only to find myself signing up on the forums that answered my questions, GS included. I could be an anomaly(wouldn't be the first time ), but it seems like a "captain obvious" thing to me?

Just to let you know, the ads don't bother me a bit. I'm so used to them, I tend not to notice them anymore, which I'm sure is true for a lot of us.

If a thread is about a certain piece of gear " Shure KSM32 " , anyone that types that in google to search , will have threads pop up from alot of forums talking about the KSM32 , especially if the thread is titled with "Shure KSM32" .
