I believe they are around $400 separately or $800 together. The order list is closed for the moment, in order to fulfill current orders. Considering he's doing this on his own dime without taking deposits, I think he's going to do it like Max did with the MK-U47's. See if there is a demand for them and fulfill those orders. Can't wait to see the screen printing! Post a pic, svart. We might even get to see a name!

Oh - btw - I believe the first units will be delivered before the end of this month, but svart can clear that up.

But he hasn't contacted me about a royalty rate... Oh, you mean you'd like to pay him a royalty for all the free advertising he'd give you?

Wait...you mean like all the free advertising I'm giving him? It works both ways...
I'm totally joking about the RGOSpeedwagon thing. It's not going to be called that.

I saw the svart box mentioned in a Gearslutz post a few days ago. I thought it was quite funny, and I was hoping it would bring more people to RGO when they googled it. Now I can't find it, so I guess it got deleted.

So I have good news and bad news..
The bad news is that I got the silkscreens in, and they aren't good.
The good news is that that's the only bad news.
But seriously, I'm going to have to have more screens made by a different company or something.

Was it Wiz who commented the name should be Portal? I love that, and it gets my vote.
Would love to see a version two with word clock added. It's the only missing feature that's worrying me at this point. Internal clock might be okay of you are ONLY using the Svart for AD, but if it's being used along side other AD converters in a multi-channel situation it very likely won't be the best clock in the room.

I can say that the sampling clock source in this box is about 10x more precise than any word clock source. It WOULD be the best clock in the room.

So when analog signal is input to the SB AD, it gets digitized and when that signal is sent to say an apollo on spdif, the Apollo if set to spdif gets its clock from the spdif signal
so Martin was hearing sonic improvement over his stock appolo due to improved clock ( apollo slaved to sb) and more linear and higher resolution AD and DA.
that is the long and short to fit ?
plus price performance, as the SB is both AD and DA, for example, the equivalent conversion with a burl b2 or bla sparrow is two boxes: new at 4 grand vs $ 800 usd ?

I think Shane was saying that coax spdif could be a little unreliable - maybe I'm reading that wrong. I know the Symphony's I had seemed to be kind've poppy and clicky connecting with the coax connection. I've heard of others having that problem too. Not sure if that's a widespread problem or just isolated to the symphony.

I know the Symphony's I had seemed to be kind've poppy and clicky connecting with the coax connection. I've heard of others having that problem too. Not sure if that's a widespread problem or just isolated to the symphony. Popping and clicking are usually because the receiver is still clocked from another source, not the SPDIF. I know that the Symphony will not allow SPDIF to be the master clock when it's used in stand-alone mode. Using an internal clock of an interface while having a SPDIF or AES input will generally mean that the receiver will attempt to align the incoming signal timing to the internal clock. Since no two clocks are ever perfectly in alignment, occasionally you'll get a POP or CLICK as the timings are misaligned so much that the system has to re-align them. There is no functional difference in COAX or optical SPDIF, they both carry the same signal, just in their respective mediums.

Yeah - you know, come to think of it, it was when I was trying to hook up some other digital device spdif in and it wanted to use its own clock.
