Last week, I was searching for an amp for my ProAcs, and found a couple of people raving about the Emotiva power amps...Looked it up online - LOVED the prices (One-third of a Bryston) and thought I might order one...Little did I know that Emotiva was in Franklin, TN (Nashville)...AWESOME. Better yet, they sell direct. So, I loaded up and went down. Got the tour from Nick - nice guy - and was really impressed with the whole operation. I bought an XPA-2 on the spot. (Nick actually suggested the 500 watt mono blocks, but I am neither rich nor powering the space shuttle)...and he lent me their new $600 DAC to check out. Haven't hooked it up yet, but I'm gonna shoot it out with the Symphony DA. Did I mention their prices are incredible?
About the XPA-2 - it's 70lbs. That's heavy...maybe that's why this thing is so powerful. It's got TONS of headroom. In fact, I don't want to be in the room when it runs out of headroom, because it would be dangerous. Highs are crisp and clear, not pinched. Mids are present - maybe a bit forward. How is the XPA-2 effecting the bottom end? Honestly, I couldn't tell you because I'm not familiar enough with the ProAc's through other amps...but I'll say this - it sounds really good.

Good to hear! I'd like to swing down there and check them out. What speakers did you have before the proacs?
