I just ordered an XPA-200. Prices look pretty good.

that's really funny, I am also about to order an XPA-200! wish I could afford an XPA-2 but it's probably overkill for nearfield listening, anyway.

The 200 is all I need. I ordered a pair of rack ears too. Bad deal for those, but I gotta have them. Oh well.

You guys should check out the XPA-1L's...I thought the mono blocks sounded better than the XPA-2

Or find a used Lexicon 212 (Bryston 3BST) for $600...I sold my Emotiva's after buying that.

My amp and ears came in the mail today. They delivered to my billing address instead of my shipping address though. Not a huge deal because I'm home with the baby, but now my wife is asking about the boxes. Can't be sneaky when a big brown truck pulls up and the dog goes insane. Oh well.

I just wanted to report back, and say I'm loving the XPA-200. It's heavy as hell, and sounds like it.
I finally understand the audiophile term "soundstage." This amp is a dramatic improvement over the Pioneer receiver I had been using with my passive speakers. That thing happened again, where I could hear tiny details in songs I've heard hundreds of times, that I had never noticed before. And I mean I could hear them CLEARLY. Pretty astonishing. The amount and quality of bass I'm hearing has also improved dramatically.
Over the past few years, acoustic treatment, better conversion, better speakers, turntable, and now a great amp, have all made drastic and immediate improvements to my listening quality. I can't say I would pick any of them over the other as most important, I think they are ultimately all important concerns. And now I finally feel like I have a truly high end playback system, woohoo! It sure took me a while to get here. The only thing I can see from here is spending $1,000 or more on some Focal speakers or similar. I've never heard any speakers in that price range, and I know it goes up even higher from there when you start talking about ATC, etc. I take comfort in the fact that I still see NS10 in tons of studio photos. I'm sure they have everything else in order though, all the other components and the room.

Slowly getting it back in place.
