Found it via a link in an announcement at the DUC. It seems it has been around since 2009. Don't have any idea how much Avid monitors, but I like the idea.

I understand they take it very seriously in setting priorities. Obviously they can't always implement the top voted features when it would create compatibility problems or break something but lots of things that got a lot of votes have shown up in new Pro Tools versions.
