I purchased a API 7800 master module and the 8200 line mixer and Im going to purchase one more(2 for 16 channels.) My problem for those familiar with the 7800 is the left channel of the booster output (output after stereo fader and transformer) is dead. I know the 8200 is working properly because I can come out of the pre-fader/transformer output and have full signal (sounds killer just running through the opamp.) The seller is willing to pay for someone to go through it and fix it. These are pretty hard to come by and if possible I would like to stay with this plan. jsteiger would you be willing to do the work (and and that bus modification to it? ) or should I send to API...or just return it to the seller? Im not going to mess with it as I would like to have a certified tech handle this.

Rick, can you get your hands on a schematic for it? if so, any reasonably qualified local tech should be able to isolate a problem for you i would think?

With a schematic I agree, a tech should be able to find out what is not passing audio. I'm not familiar with it, or how it's setup, but a tech with a schematic can trace it from the output and find the problem. I don't really think you'd need to send it to API, as long as the tech replaces whatever is malfunctioning with the same part that's basically all API is going to do.

Contact API , they will either have you send it in or provide a schem. Other wise give Jeff Stirger a shout he had and modded these a number of years ago.

Is there a opamp for left and right? I think so, if so, swap the 2520's and see if the problem follows the 2520.
