EQ's are the hardest things to judge to me...I should say good EQ - if it sounds like shit, that's easy to tell. I guess it's more about features and how easy it is to get it to where you want...

...but this is a compressor. so it is lol! i just had a post all ready to go about the eq also?? reminds me of when i'm doing settings on a compressor, and saying "yeah, that sounds better", only to find it in bypass mode later!! Doooouughp!!! |

That's tempting... but then I ask myself "How many compressors do you really need?" I've got 1176s, LA2As, LA3As, LA4s, CL1Bs, 1960s, Red 3s, M102s, and about a dozen others. I know I need to add a 2500 but that's hopefully where I'll stop.

I definitely have my eye on this. I've been hovering between this and the new Dave Hill Falcon. I've heard good things about both. I love the idea of going between Feedback and Feedforward on this though. I've been interested in the Tonelux 500 series compressor for the same reason.
Can't wait to hear more.

I know I need to add a 2500 but that's hopefully where I'll stop. Im sure you like all of these... I only have 1 outboard the RN5043, what would you purchase next if you were me? The only thing I will really track with compression is vox and use comps for 2 buss duties. |

Well, I believe everyone needs either an LA2A or a Tubetech CL1b as a tracking compressor for vocals, then an 1176. I believe those are the staples that will never EVER do you wrong. |
