Hey Gang, I ran out of patience waiting for the case for this monster so I've decided to power it on and test it. Runs like a Swiss Watch! The Bass on this thing is MASSIVE! This is truly the Fairchild 670 of Eq's Don't mind the wiring, once I have the case I will take care of that. I will definitely have to install some fans on this, especially on the PS! I promise I will put more Pics once I will finish with the build! Oh, I almost forgot to thank Greg @ Drip and the Crew for pulling this amazing project for us! Cheers George You're the most epic RGO poster ever. Between this and the Fairchild? Man alive. You're not in New England by any chance are you? I'd love to hear these in person.

I'm in Vancouver, Canada. I'll try to post some samples once I'm done with it. As for the money thing, I'm fortunate that I can sell my music online so I can feed my gear porn addiction. Lol

How much are you in for that? At least you won't need to run the heater next winter.

Ha, ein Universalentzerrer!
Really, i instantly thought the same as Jim Williams, one of these and you have a good heater. Massive. How long did the build take you to finish? A hell lot of work and so nicely and cleanly done! Many people don't like to hear it, but if you have to choose between Pultecs and these Klein+Hummel character beasts, don't think twice. Expensive, but you can easily see these are excellently designed modular tube eq's and there is rarely something from Klein+Hummel that does not sound good. Really good.
Man. I am seriously jealous now, looking at these pictures. Wow.

These are rarely sold. Obviously because there were not too many produced, these were expensive from the beginning, and because people who have them don't want to sell them, at least if they are working. I would guess a price of 5k or more for a pair - if you ever find them. Can be you don't find one for years on the used market...

Hi Guys, It took me ALOT of TIME and MONEY to finish this beast. I remember I've sent Greg @ Drip the money for the PCBs back in November 2013 and I've got them in May 2014! Finished the build maybe in like 2-3 months (couple of hours per day of work) but then I had to wait another 6 months for the case to be designed and shipped! I got bored in the meantime and I started to mod the build with stepped pots (where i could) and mods on different caps values (to bring the HPF to today's era). It was fun, especially since this is my second DIY project (after the Fairchild 670) but I think I will have to take a break for now before my wife files for a divorce! LOL.
Believe it or not, It doesn't get that hot! I was surprised about that! The best thing I did was to move the power supply in a different case and to fit it with high quality fans. Those heatsinks get really really hot otherwise!
I saw a pair of the originals UE-100 on ebay but the guy was selling them for 8.000 EUR (that was like 3-4 years ago.
Cheers George

Wow. You are a DIY maniac. First build a Fairchild, second this one. What comes next after the DIY vacation? Monster tube console? LOL. Really, it's obvious from looking at it you had alot of building skills before pro-audio DIY, right, and now you have two pieces of gear everyone would happily build as their final master pieces if they ever find the time and money. Unbelievably great. Thanks for the inspiring thread. Really cool.
