My dad was an Elvis impersonator in 1979 and was a very good one (Ive included a picture of him and of his earlier band.) He did big arenas and some of my first memories are being backstage watching from the side stage. Somehow I managed to get the Las Vegas style jumpsuit that he wore and I wore it on Halloween in the 90's...my wife saw me and well, the rest is history. So I guess you can say Im a Elvis fan!!! But in this video, man, Martina McBride is stunning (Voice and those Eyes!!!)
What do you guys think of this?

In 1977, after coming off the road from a Canadian tour, my 6 piece band (2 female singers) hooked up with an Elvis inpersonator. Played playboy and playgirls clubs, Vegas and toured. Did some recording and people thought we were Elvis and his band. After awhile his ego got too big (he wanted $5,000 a week), on another tour, and the band was told we were upstaging him, we were told to stand still, we quit and went back on our own. It was a fun time.

I too played in a Elvis Impersonator band for about 3 years.
Punters loved it.
What was most interesting was the "Elvis" he was useless without the suit, but man put him in that suit and he was transformed... still couldn't really sing for shit.. but he had sooooo much confidence that the audiences just loved him
I always found it puzzling.
Was fun, and I am glad I had the experience.
cheers
