Don't know why, just feel like mixing it up. the only thing you're going to "mix up" is your keyboard shortcuts for about 15 minutes before you transfer the session back to protools 8) I'm kidding.... kinda 8)

Mixing it up helps keep creative juices flowing a lot, I found. When I grow really accustomed to a certain DAW I just start throwing everything into templates and get in the habit of defaulting to certain EQ decisions and what not. If you REALLY want to switch it up, try Reason

Yeah....I did that. Done. I recalled the project one day and all my auxes were gone. WTF? Rebooted without saving....certainly something just bugged out....nope--right when I had the mix where it mostly there and fully routed...actually--technically not ALL gone...just SOME gone, which is worse somehow....if they had ALL gone, I'd have silence and go WTF....instead it was "where's the drums? I hear their reverb...."
It is, barre none, the best sounding and full featured toolkit for audio and virtual instrument production of any software. Plus, it's like $1-200 now, right?
If I didn't have a history with Apple-Logic (pre buyout it was a different app)....of horrible instability, I'd blame myself for doing something dumb on the bussing thing....but, it's enough for me to decide I needed to load C6 on there....which works perfectly fine and I can simply transfer projects on a thumb drive or via network from the Windows DAW. I'm done with any DAW experimenting.

I left Pro Tools for Logic 5 back in the day and have never looked back. Still on Logic 9 and it's rock solid. I don't even feel the need to upgrade anymore. Plus, it's just a tool, guys, focus on the music, not on the DAW!

Plus, it's just a tool, guys, focus on the music, not on the DAW! See, but John wants to NOT focus on the music....see.... I wish I could've made Logic work for me--it really has the best set of built in tools of any app for both audio and music (VI/MIDI) production. But, I think what I realized is there comes a point of no return when you've used an app for X years....I can get stuff done in Logic or ProTools, but Cubase is home. It's where I can focus on the music and NOT the tech. I hate having to use the dongle on the laptop, but....is what it is.

I was just saying the next time I build tracks for myself, I was gonna try and build it in Logic...but what inevitably happens is I get slowed down from unfamiliarity and end up dumping it all back into Pro Tools. So hey - why bother.

Exactly. That's what I'm saying....if PT is your jam, that's what you should use. If Logic's your jam, same. I don't think I realized how WELL I knew Cubase after a decade of Nuendo and/or Cubase....until I started trying to move over to Logic....finally said F it....loaded up Cubase on the little MacBook. I hate that I have to keep switching the dongle--but, that was really the reason I was using Logic on it....it's a little more efficient (and has EXS24 built in)....and no dongle. I didn't intend anything to sound like a slam on Logic. It's a slam on anyone switching platforms for no real solid reason. I resemble that....
