....is being able to focus on the music. Consider this my gratefulness thread.
I was working on a track tonight...I drop the sm7 on the bass amp, DI into EQ--to two tracks....Royer on the guitar amp....(5min set up to get the levels set and EQ on the bass DI) going back and forth between the two instruments.
Here's the thing...man, it sounded good. No reason to dick with anything. Already had a Rhodes track panned hard one way--pan the Egtr hard the other....bass up the middle....I was longing for needing to do something--because I couldn't get the groove in the pocket! Ha. Check...nope--still sounds perfect....fuck me--you mean I have to focus on getting the MUSIC right?
Gift or curse. Depending on what's fun for you to focus on. Tonight, I choose to think of it as a gift.
Tomorrow, I wake up and listen to the new Jackson Browne at 24/192....despite HDTracks pulling it down today. Pono exclusive? Not for ME....ha. Just continuing the gratefulness thread.
