Do you have a day job? Is it in the recording field or something completely different?
I have a day job designing RF test and measurement equipment for the cable TV industry. If you have a problem with your cable TV and you see the cable dude show up with a handheld cable testing device, chances are, I might have designed the RF and high speed digital sections in it. I also designed robotics and power supplies in the past. I'm currently working on a few audio related side projects that may or may not see some production.
I've also DP'd a couple music videos and an indie movie.
How about you?

Educational Assisant. One on one with Autistic kids.
It's not a bad gig. Can be very fun but also stressful at times.

I'm assuming you don't struggle with DIY builds.

I'm a computer specialist for a department at Brown University. I also do live sound for 5-10 jazz and blues shows per month.
Previously I taught video production at a middle school.

Nah I don't have any problems with builds other than sometimes I see something someone has done in the circuit or the layout and it takes me a few minutes to figure out what they were trying to do. That's mostly from doing things a certain way at work for so many years. In RF design, we have to do things very specifically and I tend to stay in that mindset. The videos/movies thing is something I'm passionate about but almost never get to do, especially now with so many kids and their instagram and cellphone videos. It's like audio was a few years ago where the market floods with mediocre quality product and it becomes acceptable and normal after a while. I studied some art in school and always found light and color amazing playthings. Photography was fun but I found most of it too contrived. Movies are much more fun because it's always a dynamic atmosphere within the plan. You have to be quick and rely on your wits and intuition in order to keep up, especially on indie shoots. The movie we shot is in post production, it should be done in the next few months hopefully. Here's the facebook photos page: www.facebook.com/thissplinteredhead/photos_stream

In my main career I'm a road construction Superintendent building Interstate Highways in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. I'm the guy in charge of putting out the orange barrels so I'm about as popular as the IRS tax man About 1/8th of my income comes from audio.

I work in IT Security, protecting the business I work for and it's customers from bad guys who would steal CC numbers and other types of data.

I teach music to kids, mostly in my home. I've made a living through music, full time for my entire life. First as a recording artist, signed to Mercury Records, then as a producer/ writer of music for radio and television. I've done 4 national commercials, maybe 20 regional, and more than 100 locals spots, and had a half dozen songs place in TV shows in the 90's. Won a national Radio Commercial of the year award, for a spot I wrote and produced, and a CLIO, for a spot I arranged, edited and remixed. I left that world in 1989 and have been teaching privately full time ever since. It was only in January 2012 that I began to record again, I'd left the business, but my wife inspired me to get back to it, and here I am. I had one job, selling A/V equipment and training sales personnel for a consumer electronics store, when I was around 25 for less than a year, it was only to make the woman I was with happy. That didn't last.

I am a physiotherapist (physical therapist). I've spent the last 20+ years working with children with disability in public schools. I handle live sound for a small church band, and do the odd bit of recording. I also *love* DIY audio - both hifi and pro gear.

I work in aviation. Been a flight attendant for 12 years until I got fed up with night work and jet lags and not seeing my wife. Spent the last 20 years at the Communications Dept of a major European cargo airline. Not exactly what I had in mind when I was 17, but it pays the bills and enabled me to build up a nice cozy home studio. Mind you, I started all this because my initial work as a freelance songwriter and producer didn't make enough money to pay the rent, so I looked for a side job and got stuck there. Seeing the state of the music industry today, I'm kinda glad I took this route. I now have to deal with some, let's just be polite and say conservative minds, but they're no worse than the stupid A&Rs I had to deal with in the music biz. Not sure if I could have stuck with them for 30-plus years.

I'm a landscaper by day... or professional ditch digger. Mostly these days doing lawn maintenance. Laying sod and installing irrigation is truly a young man's job. Don't miss that very much, but it can be rewarding to transform a yard and make a client happy. I used to be in a band on a major label in the late 90's. Never made any lasting money, but it brought me every good thing in my life. Wife, kids, friends and ultimately my first landscaping contract too:)
