Except they only make money selling plug ins.
What plug ins do you feel the need to monitor? I've posted here before instructions on additive FX and the native DAW...you can use reverb and delay with any native system. Mostly with any buffer setting.

Just put an order in for one! How long till you get it? Do you have the ability to A B it with other interfaces? Apollo? Symphony? etc? On this and on other sites the two big questions are how does the conversion rate, and can it really track and monitor using plugins without any audible latency.

As a frustrated Apollo user who finds UAD's plugs not very cost effective, I'd sure like to hear/see more about monitoring in real-time with native plugs through my DAW with the new Ensemble. I'm still skeptical, although I have no doubt the box sounds very good; and, as and aside, I wish UAD would consider some sort of subscription-based service for their plugs... Hey CI, I do understand but in terms of plug prices but UA rewards patience as it always has sales and special deals. Like anything in life you can pay full pop or wait. For example, when I got my octo card, I got a free voucher for over $1200 and it continues its registration deal where you get any plug you want for $133 and up to 6 to 10 plugs. The new ensemble looks great on paper and I bet it will be a very good interface, but the other dilemma is UA does makes some of the best plugs and you got to pay to play and have a dsp uad-2 card, and you will need tbolt for best performance. Ua had been giving away free its gen 1 tbolt cards with a new apollo, but an FW or tbolt satellite would be an add on to the ensemble price of around $1-1500 or get an apollo with on board dsp. I am very curious about what apollo mkii will be like, but I am betting 8 pres ( for unison slots), either quad or octo on board processing ( 4-8 faster sharc chips) and better comm with other apollos. If someone doesn't care to use UA plugs the ensemble looks like a great new interface but if you want UA plugs and don't have a satellite then the $2500 usd entry point goes up to $4500 or so retail new including satellite. If UA releases a new apollo mkii as described above I bet it wi be more competitively priced and ma include some of those plug registration deals too. Personally, I very rarely track with plugs . So, an ensemble owner
