...I've been following Michael Farabee's very affordable Resto-Mod restored vintage ribbon and dynamic mic offerings on Youtube/eBay, but this one really caught my attention...seems like a very interesting (and affordable) option for stereo micing, with the intent of blending and individually EQ'ing the two different elements, on a single voice or source... ...I think throwing up a pop-screen and backing off the mic a touch to reduce proximity would have probably flattered the mic's performance on the video a bit better... ...thoughts? www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Electro-Voice-726-microphone-resto-mod-to-a-ribbon-mic-/251640134319

Intriguing. But his deep baritone would sound rich on any Mic! I would have liked a more informative video--hear the two elements separately? Is the dynamic element the original EV? Is he eq ing the demo? It's all a bit of a mystery.

...yeah, I agree, he'd do himself more justice by being more forthcoming in terms of the tech specs and interior build pics...from what I've seen of his work, he pretty much guts these and the elements, whether ribbon or dynamic, are all new...I for one, would love to hear a female vocalist on his ribbon mods...but his pricing is quite affordable, considering the mods alone can cost as much from some of the other ribbon-modders doing similar work... Here's his site (similarly void of tech info): restomodmics.com/
