you haven't lived until you've put a ribbon mic in front of a guitar amp. brown sugar, anyone?
I think you should get that SG though.

I think ephi and Pop have a point...I think I'm wanting a different sound more than a "better" sound... ...24 months right? ... get both!

Getting an SG and a Fathead isn't much. Don't even think about an Epiphone. You'll regret it in the end.
On the other hand..........Jimmy Page made his telecaster sounds like a Les Paul and made his Les Paul sounds like a telecaster. What i'm saying is, again, get that Gibson SG and have it modded with push/pull. You might be surprised. Both my Les Pauls have push/pulls and the tone and different PU combinations is simply amazing.
As Pop said looks like you are looking for different sounds.
Get the SG
or even better a Les Paul Standard or Custom.

I really love Sweetwater. Accurate listings, no misinformation, great prices & good financing options! That 24 mos thing is great, allowed me to really put some good gear in my place. Also the 4 and 5 payments you can get at AmericanMusical.com are awesome as well. They just don't have the big selection of gear like Sweetwater. But, every so often you can look on there and they'll have exactly what you want and sometimes even have 8mos interest free. You can call them at any of those places and get a better price too, I've never paid what was on the website and never paid shipping from any of those sites.
