Using M/S to add attack and shimmer to OH's

I've just got an album to mix and the OH's really lack any attack and shimmer when it comes to the cymbals… in the past I've put some sample hits underneath, but was curious if anyone had a creative way of using M/S to suck the middle out and blend in with the original OH track. I was thinking about getting creative and maybe giving it a shot, but if someone has went down that road and it didn't work I don't want to waste my time.
