I'm thinking about re-amping, and looking at what's available. This looks very interesting: Two Notes Torpedo StudioI am interested in hearing about any owner/user experience with their stuff. I am looking to retire my 4x12, or build an iso cabinet for it, or for a dedicated 1x12. Or not. Either way, I will be putting yet more $$$$ into the studio, so I'd like to get it right. The thought of being able to run a Marshall, Deluxe Reverb, Vox, or Supro direct into PT via a kick-ass load box is very attractive. If Two Notes gets you 95%+ (or more) there, I am ready to make the leap. The convenience factor would be huge, and I could use the space in my smallish room.

So, no more load box and Hughes & Kettner 'Red Box' then?

It reminds me of the Digidesign Eleven Rack I don't think the Torpedo does distortion like the Eleven. It's designed to eliminate the cabinet and microphones. Depending on the model, there's also some effects like EQ and compressor, and also power amp modeling to use with preamps. I get the impression that it turns your entire rig into a DI, or reamp signal chain. It will attenuate as well. The YT vids I've watched sound pretty good. Here's a demo by Pete Thorn:

I own both the Torpedo CAB and Reload. I use the CAB with my tube preamp pedal plus pedal board and the Reload with my amps. You can also use the Reload and CAB together as shown here: support.two-notes.com/knowledgebase.php?article=213 Haven't mic'd a cabinet since getting these. They are excellent. I thought about waiting for the Torpedo Studio but the stereo function was not that important to me but will be to others. When using the Reload you can set your rig for the volume you normally would for tracking and go straight into your DAW. You must use the WOS III plugin for the cabinet / mic simulations inside your DAW as the Reload does not host them whereby the CAB, LIVE or upcoming STUDIO do. So if you were hoping to also use one of their products for gigging as well I would go with one of their products that also hosts the emulations. With respect to Reamping, the Reload does a great job, the combination of Replay with the Match function is extremely effective. One thing that some other users struggled with is when you re-amp the max volume coming from the amplifier in the Reload will push about 25 watts (depending upon the amp you are using). It does not work like an Unleash where it will take a lower watt amp and make it louder or reproduce the amps volume level. The video by Pete Thorn above does an excellent job. These are great tools and backed by a company with excellent service. Hope this helps. Scott

The Torpedo costs substantially more so I'm sure it does a lot of good things.

Matt, I've been using a Torpedo Live for three years now. I bought it after hearing it at NAMM in Anaheim. I can't imagine you'd be unhappy with the sound of their cabinet and mic IR's. It looks like the new Studio has two cabs at the same time.
I've got a pristine Rivera Silent Sister 1x12 cab I'd sell if you're interested in that route.

I'm very interested in this too. I've used a Palmer PDI-03 and an SPL Cabulator in addition to micing my speakers, both of which are fine, but if the Torpedo can replace all these, I'm definitely in the market. I wonder if the Studio is worth double the price of the Reload, though. Can any users of the Reload chime in? Scott's comments above are very helpful...

Are there any videos showing the comparisons between different makes and this one?

Are there any videos showing the comparisons between different makes and this one? I haven't found a true shootout, but here's a fairly detailed review of how the Torpedo Live is used: I''l post up if I find anything.
