I've never used any of the Eventide plugins, but they've got a new reverb out with a nice introductory price. (link below) If I can find time this week I'll download the trial version. Anyone here familiar with Eventide verbs in general? How do they stack up? Eventide Ultrareverb

Their rack mounts are too rich for my blood, maybe their plugins are worth it..

soundcloud.com/lorne-entress/ultrareverb-demoI use a LOT of reverb, so I couldn't resist downloading the Ultraverb. I just dipped into it this morning, but I have to say it's very impressive at first listen. Combining verb with delays, and also being able to tweak the verb eq all in the same spot is really user friendly. I'm a "tweak the presets" kind of guy, and this plugin seems to have some really great presets. The link is a project I'm currently working on--the electric guitars have the Tunnel preset on them. I'm digging it. The intro offer is $79.

Have an H3500 sitting here for about 7 years : never saw the verbs as the unit's strong suit - useful for effecty audible reverb. H8000 is a whole nother story, underrated for reverbs, wanted to buy one for a few years, but priceyyyyy ! Bought the plugin right away, didn't fiddle with it deeply yet, but used it already in 2 mixes as ambience : super transparent, wide and subdued ( had to turn aux waaay up before hearing it!! ) and used the chamber preset on a very sibilant female voice - one of my tests to hear most reverbs miserably fail, thinking the reverb would be spitty and cold...uh uh, not at all! impressive. This is the bargain of the moment in plugin land. Also pretty light on cpu, and easy to use, even for tweaking. Includes a stereo delay. And bitcrusher for what is now called - yes we've come to that - vintage digital. Amazing job Eventide!

Both of my TC Electronics rack mounts have great reverbs, that's probably their strengths.

This plugin sounds very different from VR--a really nice alternative so far. I'm mixing a couple of tunes tonight and using the Wide Acoustic Room preset on drums. One of my tests for verbs is what it does for drums when they need some roominess and I'm digging this.

I am liking it very much here. Really tweakable from transparent, near Exponential Phoenix territory, to super weirdness
