Well, I will chime in here and post a photo of my new desk. I built it out of MDF and red oak. Looks kinda like a mastering console, but it is general purpose Pro Tools recording stuff. This is the Hi Fidelity 500 Mk II (named after an old name plate - sans the Mk II part - found in the alley behind my former building).

If this is wrong for me to do, let me know, i'll pull the post, but maybe this can be a "check out my console" thread? Anyway, until Mr Steiger is done with his beast, this is the route i'm taking. Its 2 sound craft delta ave's, a 16x4x2 and a24x4x2, i pulled all the VCA stuff out, chopped the chassis in sections, and welded back together to make a 16x8bussx2x16, the pcbs were burned with pathways for more busses than the original 4, so i'm adding alps switches and jumping the subs to make an 8 buss! wheee haaa! I've also had Jim Williams do his magic to a bunch of channel strips, and I'm using a CPS 650 PSU to give me extra horse power. it really sounds killer. The best part, is i made a second live chassis with the remainder of the 16x4x2 chassis, It's 6x2x2 and perfect for live gigs. I hope you like

Danetate, looks good. What are those gauges on the bottom left side? They look like airplane gauges!

Those are airplane gauges. Been collecting them for decades and finally decided to do something with them. There were a few more that I left out, but those are basically the collection. Not a fast collector.
They don't do anything, but they look cool. They are mounted in a piece of oak, and the rack ears/handles came with some server or switch or something that had never used them.
Sorry to take so long to respond.
