This system is shaky and whether it's gonna work might as well be determined by the flip of a coin. Last night I got a too many tracks warning from Cubase while attempting to record 9 tracks. Not too sure why a computer that so many media professionals swear by only has two usb ports. Zen driver is especially buggy, resets and stops working with no rhyme or reason. Lots of work is scheduled and these two devices are not getting it done for me at all. I'm tempted to bail on both and grab a firepod and a shitty little PC and get back to actually working instead of exchanging various emails with tech supports.

sorry to hear your having problems with your new rig Jordan , the antelope drivers have been buggy from the get go, the mac is proven no matter what svart says . The orion has headroom and dynamic range issues anyway, it uses 1 converter chip for 8 channels of DR abuse! i'd dump it for something better if you can afford it.

Does the Zen use an ASIO driver, or is it relying on CoreAudio? Cubase NEEDS ASIO. It's built for ASIO...anything else I have to say on this subject is likely to start one of those age old PC vs Mac things....you have to use ASIO for Cubase--period. Regardless of the OS used. If the "zen" doesn't have an ASIO driver, problem identified. If it does--make sure you're configured to USE it, and not the coreaudio driver.

If you're in it for the long run, I'd find a permanent solution that will be stable for years for what you do now and still give you room to grow.

Just updating this, the other day I got a Too Many Tracks warning from Cubase, Antelope is suggesting an update to Cubase 7.5, I've just filed two tickets with Steinberg (one for too many track warnings while recording 9 tracks and another for Wavelab giving me streaming errors and not playing back through the zen). I can confirm that I am running ASIO drivers with the Zen and Cubase. Sadly, I cannot update to Cubase because there is also a tech support issue with Mastercard's secure code, supposedly I am not Jordan Voth and after 2 hours on the phone with these people nothing was resolved. It is my hope that this phantom credit card owner can pay the bill for me.
