I'm trying to decide which card to get so I can run 2 monitors when running my DAW. Right bnow I have a 2-1 adapter but the displays get dim when running both. My platform has a PCIe 2.0 slot.

We run totally overdosed actual Nvidia cards in most of our workstations...not really needed. Depending on the connectivity of your monitors. I.e. number of required DVI (soon to be abandoned), HDMI, Displayport... Always check this on the particular model. The 3 DAW PCs we are running each feed 2 monitors/huge tv's, but maybe end up with one feeding even 3... I prefer mostly silent cards, but we have really good extremely silent cases (and PSUs), so the cards are not noticable...

I use and old ATI (pre radeon) with two outputs. I went from dual monitors to a single larger monitor and love it much more this way.

I use an ASUS EAH3650 (PCIe-2) which has gone through a couple of PC builds. It's silent, no fan, and has worked well for me.
I'm using 2 x 24" Samsung monitors. I've considered a single larger one, but I need the width without the increase in height.

GeForce card here on a media PC. Lots of CUDA power, 2gig memory, 2DVI and an HDMI (2@ a time), monster of a card, Asus I believe. Some process spec GeForce types.

I've got a single HP 24" hd monitor, i'm thinking of stepping up to a larger single 32 now though?

I've got a USB hub right behind my keyboard, so I don't miss having the PC beside me at all. The lack of noise is deafening, for me this was well worth the bit of effort that it took.
