Does anyone think this video crosses the line? I admire Ice T for not being afraid to speak his mind through his music, and not caring what people think. I just worry about weak minded fools shooting people because they don't like what they post on Facebook or Twitter.

Does anyone think this video crosses the line? Ice is no stranger to controversy - back in the day, the song "Cop Killer" was roundly condemned by law enforcement and pro law-and-order types in a very public way. This new song is hard, that's for sure. Heavy Metal. EDIT: I just realized I have been unintentionally ironical, given Ice-T's career in television. Go figure.

I like the aggressiveness of this song.

Yeeeeeahh!
Now this is the way I like to see Ice!! He's looked like a domesticated house pet on Law & Order. If you were a Body Count fan this track is right on point. Good for him.

He's still got a keen sense of where pop culture is at. And more importantly what his brand and tone are supposed to be. His video is funny, but cool, the song isn't too dated or too far off his roots. It's a good classic Body Count riff and production, and he's not pulling a Taylor Swift with a format change. The guy knows how to position his brand. He has a really wily ability to stay hard and controversial without jumping the shark. No one went around shooting cops when "Cop Killer" came out, and no one is going to go around shooting white people now for being assholes. What's funny is most hustlers new his "game" the first time around and I suspect this second time most white kids will too. It's still a fun musical format and I like his brand.

I think the timing is bad with what's going on in Ferguson, but we all know you can't predict that. It's all white people getting shot

I think anything devisive is over the line. We've had enough of that kind of crap.
I am the only Anglo on our church staff. I just spoke about race reconciliation in the light of ferguson this morning.
Bottom line is that we all make the juice what kind of voice we will be. One that hurts or one that heals.
I hope we get more of the latter in pop culture.

Well, shouldn't we have the sense to not blur the lines between art and reality? I mean no one thinks Steven king is a freak clown murderer because he writes crazy stories about them, why should it be any different for musicians that write... Crazy stories? I have a tune about a guy who kills his girlfriend, and sings it from jail, it's not me, it's retarded that anyone would think it is me? why should I worry that some idiot thinks it is me? I shouldn't, and I won't, it's art.
Marylyn Manson said it best, "if u don't want to raise your kids, I guess my records will?"

If the weak minded fool are going to shoot someone because of Facebook or Twitter, they would do it with or without this song. This has no bearing on people getting shot.
