Not where they're at right now....no....I tried tonight to export the drum midi from the Kronos and import into the Cubase project so it was literally the same drum track--only following my tempo....and it reminds me of why I stopped USING midi (except for strings) a decade+ ago....it doesn't even resemble the beat. I mean, obviously it does--it's the same notes....but, with a different sample set, it's literally pooched the internal dynamics of the groove... If it's easy to do in Cubase, try globally scaling the velocities of your exported midi part to the new drum instrument. I use Slate drums, and realized they sound best if the average 'slammin' velocity is around 100, rarely anything higher than that. If every hit is high velocity (which happens when I program with akai type pads or a keyboard,) the drums don't sound real anymore.

Not sure if related but I was fiddling with the click settings on Reaper and just discovered an option to smooth transitions on click envelopes. I'll have to dig a bit more. I sometimes think even 2 bpm tempo changes are quite drastic when they suddenly speed up.

I remember about 5 years ago tracking a new tune(drums) of a friend, we were using a click and tracking drums and guitar only, on this particular day, about 5 takes in, I was just sucking, to the point where i started to get pissed off at myself! Then my buddy said to me, "fuck the click, lets do it without it", i said hells to the yes, and in my fired up state, we proceeded to get a 1st take, killer driving track that slightly sped up through the end, we started laughing at the end of the take because we both just knew it sounded awesome. If I find a situation where we don't need a click, i always choose to not use it.
IMO, clicks are for practicing, music's for playing 8)

IMO, clicks are for practicing, music's for playing 8) mow THAT should be carved in stone and a plaque put on the door of every studio in the world. Clicks should be for count in only.
